Cranial Sacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on therapy that uses light touch to balance the craniosacral system. The craniosacral system is made up of the bones, membranes, and fluids that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord.
I am a massage therapist in Ventura, California who specializes in CST. I use a variety of techniques to work with the craniosacral system, including:
Gentle palpation: I use my hands to gently palpate the craniosacral system to identify any areas of tension or restriction.
Craniosacral rhythm: I work with the natural rhythm of the craniosacral system to release tension and promote healing.
Energy work: I use my hands to direct energy to the craniosacral system to promote balance and healing.
CST sessions are typically 1 hour to 75 minutes long. I begin by talking to the client about their health concerns. I then perform a physical assessment to identify any areas of tension or restriction in the craniosacral system. Once we have identified the areas that need to be addressed, I begin to apply CST techniques.
CST can be used to treat a variety of conditions, including:
Headaches and migraines
Sinus problems
TMJ disorders
Neck and back pain
Sciatica
Stress and anxiety
Depression
Sleep disorders
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
Concussion and head injuries
Here are some of the specific benefits of CST:
Reduces pain and stiffness
Improves range of motion
Relieves stress and anxiety
Promotes relaxation and improved sleep
Boosts the immune system
Enhances overall well-being
If you are looking for a gentle and effective way to improve your health and well-being, CST may be a good option for you.
CST is a safe and effective therapy for most people. However, it is important to talk to your doctor before starting any new therapy, especially if you have any underlying health conditions.
